Dinesh Shenoy is Of Counsel to Aronson & Associates
PA in Minneapolis, MN, in which position he advises the firm on matters
concerning immigration law with an emphasis on employment-based cases.
Mr. Shenoy has a wide range of intellectual interests and he is presently
pursuing studies in the field of Physics, while maintaining his expertise
in the field of Immigration.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Mr. Shenoy earned his Bachelor degree
at Rutgers College in New Jersey with dual majors in History and Physics
in 1995. He earned his law degree at the University of North Carolina
in Chapel Hill in 1999, and was admitted to the practice of law in Minnesota
in 2000. As a law student and clerk, he assisted in the post-conviction
representation of death row inmates and on discrimination cases under
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
In his nine years with Aronson & Associates as an Associate Attorney,
Dinesh built a reputation as both an expert in immigration law and a
mentor to immigration lawyers around the country. He has been a regularly
invited speaker at numerous annual conferences of the American Immigration
Lawyers Association (AILA) as well as regional events, speaking on topics
including a wide variety of advanced employment-based strategies and
law practice management. He has chaired teleconferences on a broad range
of immigration issues including adjustment of status, affidavits of support,
immigration court practice in Minnesota, and the “Child Status
Protection Act.” His publications for AILA include the first leading
article on the “concurrent filing rule”, and articles on
H-1B extensions of status under the American Competitiveness in the 21st
Century Act (“AC21”), and H-1Bs for Business Professionals.
Together with Robert Aronson he has co-authored articles on physician
immigration as well. In 2008, he co-authored an article for the William
Mitchell Law Review titled “One Strike and You’re Out! The
Crumbling Distinction Between the Criminal and the Civil for Immigrants
In the Twenty-First Century.”
In 2003, after just three years of practice, Dinesh won the prestigious
Sam Williamson Mentor Award, presented by AILA for “Outstanding
Efforts and Excellent Counsel to Immigration Attorneys By Providing Mentoring
Assistance.” He proudly served on AILA’s 2004-05 Liaison
Committee to the Nebraska Service Center (NSC) of the US Citizenship
and Immigration Services (USCIS), assisting hundreds of immigration attorneys
to resolved issues on employment-based adjustment of status cases and
related issues.
Being Of Counsel to Aronson & Associates, Dinesh advises the firm
on its work with clients varying in size from large corporations working
in the high-tech sectors as well as mining and hearing aid design, to
small start-up companies and sole proprietors. His areas of focus include
non-immigrant work visas (particularly H-1B Professionals and L-1A Executives
and Managers, and Canadians and Mexicans entering under the North American
Free Trade Agreement (TN)), and Permanent Residence (“green cards”)
based on Labor Certification Applications, and petitions for Multinational
Executives or Managers. Dinesh also advises the firm on novel immigration
issues including immigration consequences of crime, citizenship laws,
and issues of admissibility.
Dinesh lives in Minneapolis with his wife Andrea Hickle, a Continuing
Education Specialist with the University of Minnesota School of Public
Health, and their two children, Reena and Gabriel.
